All from a sketchbook that I recently filled and 'decommissioned'. (I rip out all the parts I want to keep and throw the rest away.)I've only recently adopted this policy with my sketchbooks, but the reason I did was because I was nearing the 15-20 zone of books devoted to sketch.

Apologies in advance for the quality of the images. I no longer have a scanner or a tablet, nor do I have a halfway decent digital camera. These are all taken by my camera phone.

Eventually, this will be a full body shot of my boy decked out in parts of his horde. You know dragons and their gold - inseperable. (Insufferable, maybe?) Anyway, I'm pretty proud of this so far, now if I can just keep myself from fsking up on his back.

I also did like, Celebi and a couple of other pokemon not seen here, but the image is really, really big and I tend to jump around so it's tough to like, fit all the stuff I do in a day together into a comprehensible screenshot that isn't gigantic.

I started doing some work on other parts of the canvas - here are the highlights. I also did the sketches for Articuno and Moltres, but they weren't all that fun. Tomorrow I'll be working in the legendaries from Gold & Silver - Raikou, Entei, Suicine, Hu-Oh, and my favourite, Lugia.

I really wish I had my scanner up, since I did a nice racy sketch of Cairne today. I could try to install it on this computer, but it was such a pain in the butt the first time.

Maybe I'll get a nice new scanner for my birthday next month. hint hint

Poke-Project Days 1 & 2

I figured I'd do a day-by-day progress on this one, the goal is to do a poster sized image of all 500ish pokemon. :)

This is actually the center of the image. I grouped all the starter pokemon together in the center, and I plan on having nice big promenant places for all the legendary ones, too.

All of the pokemon are in new, original poses - I made a deliberate effort not to just copy the official artwork poses. Some of them I had way more fun with than others. (WTF tree-turtle?)

I'm trying to teach myself to loosen up, paint faster, rather than obsessively focus on tiny details. I think if I can block and rough better, I'll be able to tighten better in the long run. Anyway, here's Cairne, new for '07. I should have a full model sheet to post up sometime when I get it back from a friend.

Roughly 2 hours. More than the 45 minutes I wanted, but I can only be so sloppy before I get neurotic.

Wolf's rain stickers, which I plan on printing in a small sheet like this, and then larger individual stickers. The small sheet will be $3, the larger individuals $1 a piece, or $5 for the set of six. That's uh, Darcia down there at the bottom, the freaky one.

Toboe and Hige ARE different, aside from color, Hige is fatter. :)

This series is a little different than I expected, but I still enjoy it. I knew I'd love Roy, but I like a lot of the more minor characters too, especially the pervy robophile.

Anyway I wanted to just draw Roy, but Solty actually ended up being the first to get sketched, and she was cute but looked lonely all the way up on the corner of the page.

Excuse the strange hue to it, it's drawn in blue and adjusted to be visible in Photoshop.

First OC I had this much inspiration for in a long time. :| He's a dragon slayer, the horse's name is Gideon, I figured I'd try a sleightly more cartoonish way of doodling hosses to give him some more expression and personality. Ulreich is kind of the straigh man in that duo, with Gideon being way more expressive and outgoing of the pair. (Not that he talks or anything, you know, it's just that Ulreich is kind of quiet and stern.)

2am is too late for proper anatomy, plz ignore that his right hand is in a completely impossible position. Also I think I put his scar on the wrong side, it's supposed to be under his left eye. OH WELL.
